Komsikomsi!!<\/p>\n Dear students.<\/p>\n HBF Birkarlarna is a fraternity at Norrlands Nation for male students of Uppsala University and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Birkarlarna was founded in 1934 in Uppsala with members who descended from the regions of Norrbotten and V\u00e4sterbotten, the two northenmost regions of Sweden. Theese days, however, mens from all over the world are welcome to join Birkarlarna and our northen heritage manifest itself by making northen food, drinking and making journeys to the north.<\/p>\n Many of you came in touch with us during the Reccemottagning at Norrlands Nation and signed up on a E-mail list to recieve more information about the stuff that we are up to!<\/p>\n The 2:nd of October, 18:30 at Norrlands Nation is the time for our next big dinner, \u201c\u00c4lgst\u00e4mman\u201d! Since September is the month of moose hunting in Sweden, we will serve great dishes with moose and to that local craft beer from the V\u00e4sterbotten-city of Ume\u00e5. The dinner will take place in the room \u201cBr\u00e4nda tentan\u201d.<\/p>\n \u00c4lgst\u00e4mman, however, is not only a dinner but also the very dinner where the Storkarl-election is taking place. Storkarl is the chairman of Birkarlarna and one might expect a lively and intense debate between the candidates. Overall a st\u00e4mma (dinner) is a event where Birkarlarna often debates about anything that seems important enough, like whether or not a real man should like icehockey or not, or if Birkarlarna have to declare war against some other faternity at the nation.<\/p>\n In short terms, it’s a event where you eat good food, drink good beer and snaps, get drunk and argues about stuff that is really not that important. The \u00c4lgst\u00e4mma is held in swedish but every english speeker will be provided with a translater \u2013 and it is a good way to learn swedish in.<\/p>\n Does it sounds like something for you? Ask anything you want to or just sign up by respond to this emai or by signing up at the list outside of the computer hall at the nation.<\/p>\n The dresscode is to wear a suit and the fee is 100SEK if its your first st\u00e4mma! Otherwise it’s 200SEK.<\/p>\n If you’re busy the 2:th October for some reason, we will have two more st\u00e4mmor during this semester with other northen-style food.
